OUR STORY

Albritton House began on a Christmas morning — with three sisters, two matriarchs and a charm bracelet.

Opening gifts on Christmas morning, I opened a box from my mother.  Wrapped in worn velvet, was her beloved charm bracelet. As soon as I lifted it out of the box, my two sisters rushed over with excitement. Shared wonder. In that moment, it became clear how deeply the bracelet belonged to all of us — not simply as a piece of jewelry, but as part of our shared family history.

We gathered around it, remembering the thrill of opening her jewelry case as little girls to hear the soft jingle of the Swiss bell on our mother’s wrist, to lift the roof on a tiny ski cabin to find a bed inside, to lift the lid of a treasure chest charm to discover sparkling jewels hidden within, to hold the stained glass of a miniature Notre Dame up to the light.

That bracelet was never just jewelry. It was a treasury of memories, stories, and moments — worn faithfully on her wrist each day.

Realizing that it belonged to each of us, we carefully divided the charms so my sisters and I could each choose the ones we felt most connected to. We turned them into necklaces and bracelets — modern heirlooms we now wear every day.

Everyone asked about them! Every charm seemed to open a conversation: places we had traveled with our grandmother, stories passed down by our grandparents of their adventures and treasures that were emblematic to her, our mother.

That was the beginning of Albritton House — named for our mother, Sally Albritton, and grandmother, Martha Albritton, the two women who inspired it all. They were the most glamorous and the most devoted women in our lives, full of style, grace, adventure and depth.  This collection is, in many ways, a continuation of the world they created around us.

I began sourcing vintage gold charms for friends who, like me, were searching for jewelry that felt personal rather than predictable — pieces with soul, history, and individuality. The kind of piece a child might remember forty years later and say, “I loved when you wore the gondola charm!”

Every piece we carry is vintage — upcycled, storied, and singular. Someone else’s history, ready to become part of yours.
